I’ve spent my entire adult life as a music educator and am deeply passionate about the power of music. I was raised in a family that enjoyed all forms of music and began formal piano lessons at the age of 6. I was fortunate to study under some of Australia’s most respected educators and performers — including Dr. Margaret Brandman, Albert Landa, and Alison Ascoli — who helped shape the foundation of my music career.
I began teaching in 1992 at the Fairfield School of Music, which I co-owned and ran for over a decade. In 2000, I launched my private teaching practice, The Piano Academy. A few years later, after the premature birth of my first daughter at 28 weeks, I opened Busy Bees Music in 2007 — a Kindermusik studio born from personal experience and a desire to help families discover the incredible role music plays in strengthening relationships, building community, and making learning joyful.
Over the years, I’ve taught music in childcare centres, primary and secondary schools, and through Families NSW, working with parents and children from diverse language backgrounds. I welcome children of all learning and sensory profiles — including neurodivergent children and those with sensory processing differences — and my teaching approach is inclusive, responsive, and grounded in whole-brain development.
As a parent of two young adults, I know firsthand how powerful music can be for every stage of learning and growth.
Many of my piano students have gone on to achieve outstanding AMEB results and pursue music professionally. Some are now bringing their own children to Busy Bees — a full-circle moment that is soooo cool.
Busy Bees Music has been named a Kindermusik Top Program every year since 2012. In 2025, we were proud to be recognised for the 14th consecutive year, placing us in the top 1% of Kindermusik studios worldwide — the largest in Sydney, and the second-largest in Australia.
I bring energy, experience, and deep commitment to every class I teach. My teaching philosophy celebrates each child’s unique strengths and honours the partnership with parents — because you are your child’s most important teacher.
Through music, I’m here to help you connect, grow, and thrive together.
